Harvie ships' lantern

I have a ships' lantern made by Harvie, thats a oil or paraffin burner. It's about 74 cm in height. The brand is "Anchor" and it says "commercial quality, Birmingham 5" on it. Has anyone an idea of the lanterns history, or the companys? The internet didn't come up with much information.
